Spring Garden

Ah, spring…  It was 63 degrees in our backyard at 7:00, which is pretty remarkable in our corner of San Francisco.  And the garden has been so lovely recently.  It was overdue for a photo shoot.  Not much to say here, but enjoy my pretties!

Herbaria 02/03/13

It’s Super Bowl Sunday, and in between prepping cream cheese-based dips, I stepped out into the garden to create an herbarium with my new crate and berry baskets.  I quite like how the photo turned out.

Top row: Sage in bloom, Eureka Lemon, Creeping Jenny (Lysimachia nummularia) in her winter copper tones, Sweet Alyssum (Lobularia maritima)

Middle row: Purple Hopbush (Dodonaea viscosa ‘Purpurea’), Calla Lily (Zantedeschia), and the surprisingly reliable Blanket flower (Gaillardia x grandiflora)

Bottom row: Mint, my ever-blooming Pansies (Viola tricolor), very confused winter Strawberries (Fragaria × ananassa), and one of my 3 Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) plants in bloom
